Narcan (Naloxone) Nasal Spray

Purpose: Narcan nasal spray is used to reverse the effects of opioid overdose, such as respiratory depression, by quickly blocking the effects of opioids in the body.
Note: Narcan is provided to individuals in need as part of our commitment to addressing opioid overdose emergencies.
- Purpose: Narcan (Naloxone) was designed to rapidly reverse the effects of a life-threatening opioid emergency. It is used to revive someone during an overdose from many prescription pain medications or street drugs such as heroin and Fentanyl and is available as an over-the-counter treatment.
- Effectiveness: Narcan nasal spray works rapidly to reverse opioid overdose symptoms and restore normal breathing. It is an essential tool in emergency situations where opioid overdose is suspected.
- Administration: The medication provided is delivered as a nasal spray, it is sprayed into one nostril while the person is experiencing an overdose. competes with opioids to bind with the same receptors in the brain, reversing the effects of an opioid overdose in 2 to 3 minutes. This allows time for emergency medical help to arrive.
