Experience the charm of Raymond and its rich history, including its significance as a crucial stop for Yosemite travelers from 1886 to 1907. Once the terminus of the Southern Pacific railway, Raymond facilitated journeys to Wawona by stage or horseback. The local granite quarry supplied Sierra White granite, prized for its density and quality, playing a vital role in the development of cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles.
